Video is optimized for broadband access. Wide-angle lenses used to record video straighten the curves out. For a truer sense of twistiness watch the mirror dip .
If you're looking for twisties, you'd better pick another
DH. This fairly new highway, which covers almost half the length of
Vancouver Island, was meticulously designed to conserve your side treads. On
the plus side, you can really loose the Hayabusa on this smoothly paved and
well-engineered road. And maybe even approach the posted speed limit. There’s
no doubt if you like that remote, biking-in-Canada feeling, you'll get
plenty of it on this, the longest DH in southern B.C.. The scenery’s O.K.,
with journeyman vistas of lakes and low mountains, but it’s not as good as
you’d expect for a road running endlessly through virtually uninhabited
territory. The many clearcuts don't help either. One last thing: if you’re
heading up this way, pack rain gear. And it had better be good. The
precipitation can be downright ferocious. Too bad we can’t say the same
about the curves.
