If we lived in Grand Forks, the first thing we’d do is
bungee a couple of brooms on our bikes and clear the stones off this road.
Too many of the wonderful curves on this DH contain this disagreeable
appurtenance. Even though the pavement under all that gravel is pretty good,
you’re not exactly inspired to apex at peg-scraping angles. Shaped like a
wishbone, this sweet little romp through the pretty Granby River valley is
actually two roads: Granby Rd and North Forks Rd. They run up either side of
the Granby River before merging for a final dead-end dash. Although Granby
Rd is the twistier choice, you may want to go out on one and return on the
other. Here’s a thought: if the members of the Grand Forks Sticks and
Rocks Curling Club are looking for something to do during the summer, maybe
they could grab their brooms and adopt this highway.
